I designed this course to work for everyone, even students who claim they can barely draw a stick figure! I believe anyone can draw, it is a learned skill, not just something you’re born knowing how to do! You have to be taught, like playing an instrument or learning to read. I created this course for both beginners and experienced artists who want to master a traditional drawing technique. It’s made to help you to progress quickly and get to enjoy drawing!
You’ll learn time honored drawing techniques combined with contemporary approaches, delivered to you in a no nonsense, no fluff video, edited to match anyones pace perfectly! You’ll learn techniques I’ve adapted by masters like Leonardo Da Vinci, William Adolphe Bougereau and John singer sergeant as well as lighting techniques by Rebrandt Van Rijn.
This is an interactive, guided course, so I don’t just want you to watch my demonstrations, it’s designed for you to work along with it.
You control the pace and we do each lesson in tandem. I don’t just explain how to draw each line, I explain why I drew it and how I placed it. By the end of this course you will have learned and applied a step by step approach to drawing. And with practice, you will be able to produce academic quality drawings of any subject your heart desires.
The lesson plan consists of over 8 Hours of clear professionally filmed and edited content. And I’m available throughout the day and evening for support and to answer any of your questions. Just a friendly reminder, you will need access to a 8.5×11 (letter) printer for this course.

Are there any course requirements or prerequisites?

Joseph Patric Daniels. Born 1976 New York, N.Y.
I’ve made a living as fine artist and illustrator based in NYC for over 20 years, I've exhibited internationally and won awards and grants for painting for institutions like The Society of Illustrators and The Art Directors Club. I studied at the School of Visual Arts, among other institutions, where I learned most of these techniques. During that time, I worked for artists like Tom Weselmann, (now considered one of the greatest pop artists who ever lived) Marjorie Stryder, and Kevin Barrett, whom I helped fabricate large scale metal sculptures for. Since then, I’ve gone on to show from Galleries in Manhattan like Joseph Nahmad, to international shows like Art Basel. I write and teach under a under a pseudonym because of a teacher I had back when I was studying in college. He taught at the School Of Visual Arts for decades and throughout that time he had a strict policy of never showing his students his own work. His philosophy, which I have chosen to adopt, was that showing your students your work stifles them creatively and they’ll likely just end up making paintings that look like yours. And let me tell you, he was right. I saw plenty of students coming out of very expensive classrooms producing carbon copies of their teachers work- and that’s the last thing I want to achieve from creating this class. I want to give you the tools to have complete creative freedom to paint, draw and express yourself, without giving up from frustration like so many before us.
